The excitement is back as Bernardo leaves this statement to his supporters:
January 7, 2010
It’s been a month now since I’ve been back in the United States, and I finally feel settled in and ready to train. I’ve been checking out a few clubs to see what my options look like for the next step in my career. My representative is corresponding with more than one MLS club, and I have received interests from USL clubs as well. I plan on taking any option that is worth consideration. I took a lot of time to prepare myself physically and mentally for my new experience. I feel that I am ready to start training and eventually settle in with a club that believes in my ability. Furthermore, I would like to thank everyone who has been supporting me in this long journey and I promise nothing less than 100% determination and dedication with any obstacle put in my way. As for the upcoming Vincenzo Bernardo Soccer Camp for the summer of 2010, getting dates and locations confirmed has been a bit slow, but we will have a camp this summer so please be patient and keep looking for updates. I wish everyone the best this year, and please continue to visit and support this website. Myself, and those who maintain the website will try our best to provide you with the fastest and most accurate updates, especially in the next month or so. I am very excited and hope you guys are too!
Vincenzo is now a free agent
September 5, 2009
After opting out of Napoli’s loan offer to C2 and an extension of 2 years Vincenzo has left us with this quote "I am officially a free agent. At this time my representatives are looking for the best club for me to get first team minutes. I will leave Napoli within the next few days to travel to various clubs. The possibility to sign with a club outside of italy is very high. I am happy with this path i choose and i want to thank Napoli for a wonderful experience. I will miss the beautiful city and the passionate fan support they have here. I am ready to settle into a new situation with a new club. Within the next few days i will be traveling to visit various clubs that have shown interest. Once i sign with a new club i can finally start playing and show everyone what i am capable of."
Catching up with Bernardo during offseason
June 26, 2009
What have you been doing this offseason?
I have been working out everyday now. I had a trainer from Napoli set up a summer workout program for me to do so i can stay in shape and ready for anything that could come up. I feel really good at the moment, I am on top of my game physically and mentally.
Where will you be this next upcoming season? Do you know anything about your future?
Right now its a hard question to answer. At the moment i cannot say much on where i could end up. My future is definitely in europe in a first division team and playing.
Explain more about the camp you are hosting in Madison, New Jersey?
Its a summer soccer camp that is held in my hometown during my offseason. It will be run by myself, and 2 italian talent scouts as well as my agent. It’s something different from a typical summer soccer camp. It offers a lot more and hopefully it becomes a success.
Any news with the USA U20 National Team?
I feel that i have been doing everything i possibly can to stay ready for a possible call up. If that opportunity comes i know that i will take it because i know how important it is for my career. The world cup at the end of the summer is a personal goal and something I have been dreaming about everyday.
What do you think about USA MNT performance in the Confederations Cup?
I think its a great thing for the whole nation. Hopefully USA can continue to win big games like this in world cups. I praise Landon Donovan’s leadership for that USA team. I will definitely watch the final vs Brazil.
